Updated 3rd March 2025 — The summer 2025 tournament season is getting busy with 34 junior tournaments listed. This is up from 15 tournaments listed on 17th January 2025 when I originally posted this article.
Even though it’s early in the season, some trends are emerging. I have charted how many tournaments are listed for each age group. I’ve done this twice – once for Girls-only sessions, and once for Boys/Mixed sessions :-
The chart shows there is a tighter supply of tournaments for U13 and older age groups. The chart doesn’t show it, but Youth tournaments (i.e. U17 and U18 age groups) are even harder to find. I am hoping that I can list details of tournaments for these older age groups in the coming weeks.
Team entry fee for a tournament has stabilised
If you are planning a tournament and setting pricing, you might find it useful to know the average entry price for a junior tournament this summer is currently £51.35 per team (sample size 26 tournaments). This is so very close to last year’s average team entry fee that it is safe to say team entry prices have at last stabilised following big rises post-pandemic. However, very few tournament organisers feel they need to advertise early bird discounts this season, though this feature is available here with all tournament listing formats offered on this site.
